Social networking on your phone: What else do you need?

Nowadays, every smart phone comes with a wide variety of social networking apps. Some of the most common apps as mentioned in earlier posts are Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, Viber and so many more. These social networking sites are now changing the world.
One of the main reasons for thier expansion are that they are easy available. For example, if you have a windows phone, accessing facebook is so easy as it can be placed on the home screen. Here's a link to their FAQ.
People become so lazy that they don't have to press multiple buttons to access this app. It's right there and makes it so fast for the people to connect. The easy availability of these apps make phone calls seem like more work.
Social networking on your phone has also grown to community building. I discovered this app. It's called motribe. http://motribe.com/
You can connect with people in your community. Say you have the same interests, go to the same church.. You can find them on this app and start a whole new relationship. Finding people has gotten that much easier.
Another reason why people are so attracted to their phones than television is because a smart phone gives you all the latest news. There are multiple apps like flipboard and stumble upon. It enables you to access news about the world, your state, weather,  technology, design, automobile, even the trending tweets and hashtags on twitter. You just need to customize at login and your good to go. There are also some apps which read the news to you. So, it basically doubles as a radio. It is helpful specially when your driving or fixing to go for a run outside.

This video shows how social media is taking over the world. Of all social networking, facebook is the biggest. One of the most interesting facts that the video shows is that if facebook were a nation, it would be the third largest in the world. This really caught my attention! No wonder people want facebook in the palm of their hands 24/7.
Here's a picture of a few social networking apps on my phone. As you can see, I have a lot of apps that can be used internationally. Like Whatsapp, Skype, Voxer and viber. They are two main apps I use to be in touch with my friends from places other than the United States. For those who don't know what Voxer is, it is an app which lets you give short audio messages. It's almost like a walky-talky but also sends texts and pictures. It's a really cool way to communicate.
The presence of apps make life comfortable but one main question that arises in every mind while looking for apps is if they had a better phone which has a better app. "You can listen to people dither on and on about their smartphone of choice, but there are really only two devices at the forefront right now: Samsung's Galaxy S4 and Apple's iPhone 5." There are so many phone in the market right now but getting the best depends on the phone's ease (user-friendly) and the app store that comes with it. The phone ofcourse has to have style but every buyer is going to look for that one feature that attracts them the most. One of the main features most people look for in a new smart phone would be the ease to access the app store. Another feature they would look for is the cost of each app. If the app they are looking for is free and has multiple stars, they will love the phone. Specially with apple phones, the app store practically rules the phone. The app store has millions of apps, easy to download. Most apps are free and there is not limit to buying apps. Now that iphones have come out with folders, people download many apps which perform the same function. This is because when they don't find that particular feature in an app, they can always get it from another.

Walking into 2017

Looking back at 2016 brings back so many emotions. It was a year of letting go some relationships that held deep emotional value, letting go of projects that I thought were of high worth, and making some of life's toughest choices. I learned truly that without pain, there is no gain. I do, however want to say that in every step of the way, God has been there for me. Every time my mind said there possibly could not be another way, God came in and said, "this is the way. Walk in it." Every time I chose to obey and walk in it, the pain that came with making that decision was non-existent. It felt so light putting my trust in one who I know would not disappoint and who sees things farther than what I see. Knowing what He wanted me to do was not easy. I had to struggle to find the will of God. I went through physical pain, mental stress, emotional exhaustion and just plain hitting a wall, knowing I can't move anymore. Amidst that distress, one tear from the bottom of my...

Second Life

I came across this phase called the second life in one of my text books. I did some research on life after death and wanted to find out what the similarities were to second life. For those of you who don't know what second life is.. Second life is like avatar land (for lack of a better term). People go into sleep mode or a gaming console and begin a video game life. This time it's not game but it's actual life where you can have a salon, church, family, grocery store.. Whatever you want. The one good thing about it is you actually get paid for what you do. Be it income or investment, it will all be transferred to your bank account. So yes, you can make money with your eyes closed. http://secondlife.com/whatis/ Here's an article about how second life affects real life http://www.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,1739601,00.html Turns out, what you are in your head is what you are in second life. You are the judge of who you are. Well, this makes me want to say tha...

Just take a break. Go wander.

I wanted to start writing this post with something intelligent to say but honestly, I can't think of anything. So here it goes.. I took a break. For a whole week. No phone (well, I had it on but didn't use the internet as much). So, kinda no phone. No work. No homework. Just pure vacation, enjoying the outside world.  It did me so much good. It was so relaxing to put myself in a world I wasn't familiar with. I didn't speak their language. Took the local transport. Experienced the city-agendaless (if that's even a word). It was the best thing that I could gift to myself.  One thing that I learned from that trip was that my quiet time changed. The morning sessions with God was so beautiful. Usually, it would be "Good morning God. This, this and this is happening. I need help with this and that. What do I do with all these things in front of me?" As if He didn't know the things taking place in my life... but for the first time, I voluntarily let my ...
