Tech that fascinates me

I must say that technology that reduces stress from daily life is something that gets my attention.
It all started with the Roti Maker. It's called Roti Matic and here's the link to it.https://rotimatic.com
It's probably one of the coolest things created for people who don't have time, don't know how to make a round Roti and (let's admit) people who are just plain lazy. Imagine being single and have fresh, perfect rotis everyday. Not having to go to the store and being able to eat Roti without all that extra stuff that affects your hormones. Total win!
Anyway, fast forward time. Then came this card that can load other cards like debit card, credit card, or a member card. It allows you to store the info from your cards on to this digital card and when you have to pay, it lets you switch to the card you wish to use. Pretty cool right? I think it's called bit coin but for some reason, I can't find the website.
Here, I also need to mention google glass.. A noteworthy invention I must say.
For a short period, I was really into all these tech creations which can be controlled with the mind. Ever since this guy experienced color for the first time (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_Harbisson) it seemed like the human race has evolved to creating toys that can be controlled with the mind. Have you heard of this helicopter that can fly with just mind control. http://www.robotshop.com/en/orbit-mobile-brain-controlled-helicopter.html Oh yeah! That happened.
Doesn't need a remote control, no mobile device, no app, just needs brain waves. This is how it works. You just put on the headset and focus really hard to fly that toy helicopter. The more focused you are, the longer it flies, and Ofcourse you control the take-off and landing. In my opinion, BEST TOY EVER! (You thought China was playing games? It's taking games to a whole new level).
Moving on.. Hover board. WHAT IN THE WORLD!! Ok so here's a story. Growing up, I used to watch the show 'Jetsons' on Cartoon Network. I used to think it would be so cool to fly an aircraft every day to work, ride an escalator to the house, have a robot maid and own a never ending food machine that caters to my needs. Man, the word cool is an understatement for that kinda life. So when the hover board and even earlier than that, the boosted board was released, secretly I was telling myself the world is becoming a Jetsons world and I love that. I know. I know. I'm getting ahead of myself here but is that not fascinating to you?
Now, coming to one of my favorite devices ever. 3D printers (angelic choir music). When it was first talked about, it blew my mind. Later, they said you could print a house, a car, FOOD-actual edible food. Are you kidding me? I'd buy three of those things. Now, it's still in the research stages but imagine printing whatever you wanted. The first thing I would do is print myself degree certificates (just kidding). But imagine people using it for all kinds of reasons. Good, bad, worst, ugly. Who brings control to that? How can you license/copyright/patent what is produced off these printers and how can you say it's original content. Man, life would be an incredible competition.
Seriousness aside- my dream of having a Jetsons house would come to reality HAHA.
I'm just waiting to see what else people create. It's amazing to see how powerful the human mind is. All the things imagined in these tiny portions of the brain, every idea. It can be brought to life. Man has access to that many resources and if theyre not available, he can chose to create it.
My only question right now is, what's the shelf life to all of these creations?

  7. My answer, with all due respect, to your question is,"this is not a creation, so shelf life doesn't matter.
what matters is, that the newness of what people do keeps them interested and active minded in life"

  8. They certainly have sometimes. It also depends upon us as how much time we have for them.

Walking into 2017

Looking back at 2016 brings back so many emotions. It was a year of letting go some relationships that held deep emotional value, letting go of projects that I thought were of high worth, and making some of life's toughest choices. I learned truly that without pain, there is no gain. I do, however want to say that in every step of the way, God has been there for me. Every time my mind said there possibly could not be another way, God came in and said, "this is the way. Walk in it." Every time I chose to obey and walk in it, the pain that came with making that decision was non-existent. It felt so light putting my trust in one who I know would not disappoint and who sees things farther than what I see. Knowing what He wanted me to do was not easy. I had to struggle to find the will of God. I went through physical pain, mental stress, emotional exhaustion and just plain hitting a wall, knowing I can't move anymore. Amidst that distress, one tear from the bottom of my...

Just take a break. Go wander.

I wanted to start writing this post with something intelligent to say but honestly, I can't think of anything. So here it goes.. I took a break. For a whole week. No phone (well, I had it on but didn't use the internet as much). So, kinda no phone. No work. No homework. Just pure vacation, enjoying the outside world.  It did me so much good. It was so relaxing to put myself in a world I wasn't familiar with. I didn't speak their language. Took the local transport. Experienced the city-agendaless (if that's even a word). It was the best thing that I could gift to myself.  One thing that I learned from that trip was that my quiet time changed. The morning sessions with God was so beautiful. Usually, it would be "Good morning God. This, this and this is happening. I need help with this and that. What do I do with all these things in front of me?" As if He didn't know the things taking place in my life... but for the first time, I voluntarily let my ...

Second Life

I came across this phase called the second life in one of my text books. I did some research on life after death and wanted to find out what the similarities were to second life. For those of you who don't know what second life is.. Second life is like avatar land (for lack of a better term). People go into sleep mode or a gaming console and begin a video game life. This time it's not game but it's actual life where you can have a salon, church, family, grocery store.. Whatever you want. The one good thing about it is you actually get paid for what you do. Be it income or investment, it will all be transferred to your bank account. So yes, you can make money with your eyes closed. http://secondlife.com/whatis/ Here's an article about how second life affects real life http://www.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,1739601,00.html Turns out, what you are in your head is what you are in second life. You are the judge of who you are. Well, this makes me want to say tha...
