Helpless?

My gutt is sinking as I hear and read the news about the rains in Chennai. It's the land where I was raised. The land where I had my first friends and still have close family bonds. To see and hear that the same land is covered by 8ft of water is breaking my heart. People's houses being washed away, people infected and diseased, children lost and people dying-not news that I thought I would hear, all in a week.  I've been waking up at 1am and 5am to check the news, Facebook and twitter, to see if people are being rescued from these flood zones and keep a tab on what the situation is in Chennai. I'm just not able to go back to proper sleep as my spirit is so disturbed and the panic of all these people rings loud in my ear. How can I sleep in peace when I know my people are in distress?  I see organizations coming to offer help, doctors treating people with immediate care but how much can they do when their own communities are sinking. The families of the people who he...

December 23, 2014

My heart was full. I got to spend the day with these amazing people. They have a mission in life and it amazes me to see the faith they have to accomplish it. I learnt from them that society can say demeaning things about you but if you set your mind to something, you can achieve it. The scripture "Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the Earth" came alive.  What they do is not easy. What they sacrifice for their children is not fun. What they eat, drink is not the best. Where they sleep is not luxurious but what they have is something money can't buy nor any man provide. Happiness.. Something today's world struggles to find. I learnt that everyday is made better when you learn to enjoy the simple things in life.  Money won't last.. Fame won't last.. Love will last.. Joy will last..  What a day! I can never forget.  Sometimes we think other people need help. People who don't earn as much as us or people who don't have the things we have. Sometim...

Stop at Israel

Long but just what I needed. I'm still processing everything that happened. There was so much I could write about it all day. For now, I'm going to upload all the picture so I can show you what I'm talking about.. See you soon.

Stop 2- UAE

UAE was great. I'm smiling just thinking of it. I met so many cool people. So many interesting conversations. Just the dynamic of the entire country-wow! There's so much I want to say but the place just blew me away. Here's a glimpse.. My friend used to tell me that Muslims that when she visits a mosque, she can connect with what they are saying coz they worship the same God as us. I was skeptical about it but when I heard the Muslim call to prayer in Dubai, I was able to discern the spirit behind what they were saying. It's so beautiful when they sing. So sophisticated. I don't how it is in other countries. Now, of course I dint know what they were saying but I developed respect to what my friend said because yes, we do worship the same Yehovah. I guess I would be able to say more when I understand what they say but for now.. I am glad I was able to experience it. It was something out of the ordinary for me and that's what I love about travel. I g...

Being present

Love is such a powerful thing. Love can do so many things to you. True love leaves such a deep mark on you. I was on a trip for three weeks to India, UAE and Israel and boy.. did I have the time of my life! I din't do anything ordinary but made sure I was there. Bangalore was just amazing coz that was one place where I was just present and I saw God move in mysterious ways. Dad asked me to speak to 50,000 people which of course is not a big crowd but the pressure of addressing all those people-yu need to tell them things God wants to tell them. Being an instrument for God's voice for all those people is a lot. But I guess it was added pressure coz I had been out of it for almost 10 months; and one day stepping back into it and preparing for it was overwhelming. But hey.. Guess what happened! God asked me to speak to the young people about what had impacted me the most. So I decided to speak to them God honoring our dreams and making our dreams come true. I spoke to them abou...

Social networking on your phone: What else do you need?

Nowadays, every smart phone comes with a wide variety of social networking apps. Some of the most common apps as mentioned in earlier posts are Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, Viber and so many more. These social networking sites are now changing the world.  One of the main reasons for thier expansion are that they are easy available. For example, if you have a windows phone, accessing facebook is so easy as it can be placed on the home screen. Here's a link to their FAQ. http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/how-to/wp7/people/facebook-on-my-phone-faq People become so lazy that they don't have to press multiple buttons to access this app. It's right there and makes it so fast for the people to connect. The easy availability of these apps make phone calls seem like more work.  Social networking on your phone has also grown to community building. I discovered this app. It's called motribe.  http://motribe.com/ You can connect with people in your community. Sa...
