Being present

Love is such a powerful thing. Love can do so many things to you. True love leaves such a deep mark on you. I was on a trip for three weeks to India, UAE and Israel and boy.. did I have the time of my life! I din't do anything ordinary but made sure I was there.

Bangalore was just amazing coz that was one place where I was just present and I saw God move in mysterious ways. Dad asked me to speak to 50,000 people which of course is not a big crowd but the pressure of addressing all those people-yu need to tell them things God wants to tell them. Being an instrument for God's voice for all those people is a lot. But I guess it was added pressure coz I had been out of it for almost 10 months; and one day stepping back into it and preparing for it was overwhelming. But hey.. Guess what happened! God asked me to speak to the young people about what had impacted me the most. So I decided to speak to them God honoring our dreams and making our dreams come true. I spoke to them about Joseph's dreams and how they came true.

My dream has come true in so many ways. I've wanted not a lot but the few things I really wanted, I'm seeing them come true. Those dreams were huge to me-like traveling. I've always wanted to travel the world, meet different people, listen and witness their take on life, eat all kinds of food, experience the simplest things in life. This is one of my dreams and I'm seeing it come true in so many different levels. Speaking to these people, I had tears in my eyes coz I am witness to living my dream. Standing there and telling them God can make the smallest of yur dreams come true was so overwhelming because is so undoubtedly true.

The response I got was unbelievable. First, I was not scheduled to speak to them and when I did just submitting myself to HIS will, I saw results. These responses and thanks should not have been directed to me as I did nothing except being present. That day I felt so content. Just so grateful how God uses a girl with the smallest desires to impact so many lives. So many emails, fb messages, tweets, Instagram comments of how God spoke to them thru me. So unexpected! So overwhelming. That day I learnt that it's not about me, not about how I try to present things. At the end of the day, it's about being present and letting God use you. It's about them. It's about submitting your desires to a superior power who knows what is best for you because He loves you.

Love can do so much for you. True love can take you so many places. I felt like flying that day. I felt like I was above the skies, floating on some great presence. Love so tender that you want to let go of yourself and not worry about where you are heading, where that love is taking you. I chose to be blinded that day, I chose to let go and I flew. Flew so high, I din't want to come back.

More to come..

Coming from nowhere. Or is it?

When I was a teenager, I used to look at 21 or 23 year olds who were successful, independent, funny and beautiful, and think someday I wanted to be like them. I thought they were so happy with their friends, hanging out at the coolest scenes and being their best self. I thought growing up must be fun and everything in life comes easy when you have a job, an apartment and a car..... But maaan, was I wrong!  You know how they say life is not a bed of roses? That's so true. Getting older, only means life is going to throw more curve balls at you, responsibility is taken up to a whole new level and chores reduce down to nothing. As each day passes, things change, you meet new people, make new business connections, dream new dreams, demands increase and honestly, your just not the same 14 year old who can eat all the candy you want. Your whole body starts to react if you don't watch what you eat.  Life is so not easy when you don't have a motivation to do what you're doing. ...

That ray of light

I want to start by saying that my last blog post was kinda depressing. Although real, it was more on the sad side. I want to take this moment and shoutout to all those who supported me and told me how much you could relate, and also told me its ok, these things happen. It really means a lot to me that you are reading what I have to say and walking with me through this journey. I know that there is a long way to go and these are just pricks along the way but you just being there and encouraging me is worth much. I have a dream.... and I can see it in my head. It feels as though it's so close that I can touch it... but I know there are stops that I have to make, turns I have to take and unexpected things that are always gonna come my way. Success is nothing without failure. Happiness is nothing with sorrow. So yes, I'm willing to go on this journey and take you along with me on the roller coaster called life. I fully accept all that comes with moulding myself to be the best at...

Can one exist without the other?

Today's thought: In Undergrad, I had to take a class that debated between calling and vocation. I now ask YOU to think about that difference. Story time: I have a friend who is a doctor. During the day, she saves lives and helps people. She loves doing that and it also helps with her expenses (Vocation). When she comes home and closes her eyes, she asks God to take her to the secret places and hidden spaces (Isa 45:3). She believes that when she does this, God will reveal His plans for her life (Calling). Here's more to think about on that topic. The question is whether we should simply (a) Bring Him in the dedication of our work to Him, in the integrity, diligence and humility with which we do it or also (b) Make His professed and explicit service our job. The A vocation rests on all men whether they know it or not; the B vocation only on those who are specially called to it. Each vocation has its peculiar dangers and peculiar rewards -from letters to Sheldon Vanauke...
