Friendship-A relationship every man needs

This probably was the best birthday I have ever experienced. Oh how wonderful it is when the people you love surround you to keep you happy throughout your special day. I must also say that growing up in a different country and living in another country helps with that. My friends and family started to send me wishes almost 48 hours before my big day. It was so thoughtful of them to send such valuable gifts but most important of all of them, was the priceless thoughts they had put in to find the things that made me jump with gladness.. and how can I forget all those who tried to stay awake to sing, dance and wish me right at 12. I'm truly blessed with amazing friends... Friends who mean so much to me!
This year, my corporate family back in India, gathered to bless me, write me a poem, utter special words and even pray for the best to come to pass in my life. It truly made me smile as the word from God that day was just what I needed and charged me in every way. It worked out perfectly as I stepped into the big day with this giant family wishing me a happy birthday in the most blessed way possible. I really appreciate the thought they put to make me feel loved, included and appreciated. It mattered so much that I have an army celebrating with me.
The best part of the entire day is when I got to sit down, relax and spend some quality time with people who love me for who I am. At the end of the day, no matter how crazy things are, when I get that quiet time to feel the peace that passes all understanding, there is nothing that can top that feeling... and added to that, you get to enjoy a stack of your favorite meat (myyy goodness!)-Best Day Ever! Was the day perfect? Not at all ..but from getting breakfast treats to big hugs during the day, they make it all worth celebrating.
It is important to surround yourself with people who love you for who you are. No matter how many times you've failed, fought, cried, argued, lied, pushed away and even been too busy for them, they still strive to put that smile on your face. They still love you for who you are on the inside. They still don't judge you and chose to forget your foolishness. They still chose to forgive you and take you back, to love through the tough times.
Friendships are so beautiful, specially when they are God-ordained. You meet people who cross paths with you and stay for a short time. You also meet people who you relate with on a higher level and share a lifetime with you. Either way, the precious friendships become like family to you as you get to chose them and also keep them. This birthday I realized how valuable relationships are. I value the friendship that I share with the people around me and I'm extremely happy that God placed these incredible people in my life.
Love to all who made me smile on my birthday!

Coming from nowhere. Or is it?

When I was a teenager, I used to look at 21 or 23 year olds who were successful, independent, funny and beautiful, and think someday I wanted to be like them. I thought they were so happy with their friends, hanging out at the coolest scenes and being their best self. I thought growing up must be fun and everything in life comes easy when you have a job, an apartment and a car..... But maaan, was I wrong!  You know how they say life is not a bed of roses? That's so true. Getting older, only means life is going to throw more curve balls at you, responsibility is taken up to a whole new level and chores reduce down to nothing. As each day passes, things change, you meet new people, make new business connections, dream new dreams, demands increase and honestly, your just not the same 14 year old who can eat all the candy you want. Your whole body starts to react if you don't watch what you eat.  Life is so not easy when you don't have a motivation to do what you're doing. ...

That ray of light

I want to start by saying that my last blog post was kinda depressing. Although real, it was more on the sad side. I want to take this moment and shoutout to all those who supported me and told me how much you could relate, and also told me its ok, these things happen. It really means a lot to me that you are reading what I have to say and walking with me through this journey. I know that there is a long way to go and these are just pricks along the way but you just being there and encouraging me is worth much. I have a dream.... and I can see it in my head. It feels as though it's so close that I can touch it... but I know there are stops that I have to make, turns I have to take and unexpected things that are always gonna come my way. Success is nothing without failure. Happiness is nothing with sorrow. So yes, I'm willing to go on this journey and take you along with me on the roller coaster called life. I fully accept all that comes with moulding myself to be the best at...

Can one exist without the other?

Today's thought: In Undergrad, I had to take a class that debated between calling and vocation. I now ask YOU to think about that difference. Story time: I have a friend who is a doctor. During the day, she saves lives and helps people. She loves doing that and it also helps with her expenses (Vocation). When she comes home and closes her eyes, she asks God to take her to the secret places and hidden spaces (Isa 45:3). She believes that when she does this, God will reveal His plans for her life (Calling). Here's more to think about on that topic. The question is whether we should simply (a) Bring Him in the dedication of our work to Him, in the integrity, diligence and humility with which we do it or also (b) Make His professed and explicit service our job. The A vocation rests on all men whether they know it or not; the B vocation only on those who are specially called to it. Each vocation has its peculiar dangers and peculiar rewards -from letters to Sheldon Vanauke...
